Michael (Miguel) Arias   is from Santiago de   Cuba and was born   into a family of artists.

His art has two seasons: Before   and After the accident that   changed his life.

Michael paints with his left arm aided by a splint   that serves both to sustain his hand and to hold   the brush. Before the accident that occurred in   1999 he painted with his right hand, now   paralyzed. With bold strokes, this talented artist   evokes the modern expressionist movement. In   his unique style, he uses color, shade and light   to create a world of emotion and   mysticism.
